Lagos State Government has announced plans to collaborate with Toran Group and Chinese consortium to turn the state to a mega city through massive transformation of the state and the development of the free zones.
The Lagos State Commissioner for Commerce, Industry and Cooperative, Mr. Rotimi Ogunleye, disclosed this in an exclusive chat with the editor of Nigerian NewsDirect, Mr. Alao Salimo recently in Lagos.
According to him, the state has three free zones of which the Lekki free zone is just one of them. “We have the Lekki seaport which is been done in that axis.
“Again, equity arrangement between Lagos state and Toran Group consortium, which is into deep seaport drillage has been specially packaged to take care of heavy vessels that may like to take care of materials to Lekki free zone or finished products out of the country for export and to avoid gridlock at Apapa and Tin can ports.
“The Deep sea port is not only a Lagos affair, it is a trio pa trite sharing between Ijoran, which has 61, NPA 20, Lagos state government 18.15. so, it is a trio pa trite authority.
“We also have the Lekki International Airport. it is an integrated project going on at the free zone. So investors don’t have to come to whither land, that is in that axis. it is a large investment framework that has been put there.
“Apart from the free zone, at the corridor, you have the Dangote business there. Dangote conglomerate and his preparing for a refinery. Their massive work is going on there. Dangote fertilizer and Petrochemical Plant are all there. They have a power plant already, taking supply of water and light in the free zone,” he stated.
