The National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) has commenced a campaign for revenue generation and sustainable international trade and freight forwarding in Nigeria seaport.
The newly elected chairman of NAGAFF Ikorodu lighter terminal, Comrade Okafor Obinna made this known when the newly elected executives visited the Assistant Comptroller General Nigeria Custom Service Zone A.
According to him “ considering the fact that overtime cargo constitutionally belongs to government and controlled by the Nigerian Custom Service and not shipping company nor the terminal Operators.
“it is in view of this we deem it fit to commence the aforementioned campaign with the support of the Nigerian Customs knowing that this would benefit International trade sustainability, revenue drive, port decongestion and maximization of ikorodu facilities but to mention a few.
“We crave your indulgence in ensuring that all overtime cargoes where the consignees are rseady to take delivery of, through their respective freight forwarders be expressly transferred to Nigeria Customs ikorodu warehouse”.
