Head coach of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr has admitted that he still needs new players in the squad.
Rohr especially pointed out the left-back spot, despite the presence of Elderson Echiejile and new call-up Maroof Youssef.
The German tactician stated this during his pre-match conference on Thursday, ahead of Saturday’s 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa in Uyo.
He explained that he desired more than one option for each spot in the team.
“We will continue to invite players who are good enough. It is interesting to have at least 2 or 3 players for each position. For instance we are lacking in the left back position.
“We’re searching for new position, the left back position for example. Not because Echiejile is old but we’re looking at the future,” Rohr said.
