President Muhammadu Buhari has called on voters in Bayelsa and Kogi States to exercise their franchise in a peaceful and orderly manner and in line with the law in all situations.
He made it known on his social media platform on Thursday.
According to him “I call on voters in Bayelsa and Kogi State to exercise their franchise in peaceful and orderly manner and in line with the law in all situation.
“Law enforcement officials must ensure that citizens are allowed to vote without harrassement and intimidation and any attempt to steal or hijack ballot must be stopped using legal means”, he said.
He noted that in all democratic election, there are bound to be winners and losers and the elections in Bayelsa and Kogi will not be different.
He urged all candidates to accept the outcome and wherever they are dissatisfied, they should follow the due process of the law in seeking redress and must not be resort to self help.
