The Speaker of the House of Representatives Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila has lauded the Bauchi State Governor Bala Muhammed for ensuring peace among the state lawmakers after the leadership bickering that was “almost envelope the state”.
He said the House of Representatives shared the happiness that the crisis has been resolved and commended Governor Bala for inclusion of other members of the house. “I want to encourage that you emulate the spirit that we in the House of Representatives, the 9th Assembly has carried on on the platform of joint task between all parties and tendencies, I’m glad to see this is happening in Bauchi State.
The Speaker was in Bauchi on Monday to commiserate with the bereaved family of Manu Soro, father of Hon. Mansur Manu Soro representing Ganjuwa Federal Constituency. Also the father of a Commissioner in the state, Nura Manu Soro.
Governor Bala Muhammed however, applauded Gbajabiamila for his efforts to ensure peace in every part of the Country –particularly Zamfara banditry. He said: “We know how you have deepened governance in terms of monitoring and evaluation.”
He said the leadership of the House of Representatives has made Bauchi a good place for governance while attributing their prompt action, saying that shows its pro activeness. He also acknowledged the intervention of the House which ensured that the parties settled for dialogue and embraced peace.
He also, appealed to the Speaker to prioritise the needs of the state during the next year budget for being the host to most internally displaced persons from other North Eastern states. He noted that there was shortfall in social amenities to cater for increasing in flow of the migrants.
