Following their consistency in sponsoring Rivers United, celebrated Nigerian League star and former international, Victor Ezeji, has charged corporate Nigeria to emulate Eunisell by investing in Nigerian Clubs.

Eunisell, a leading global chemical and specialty fluid management company, supplying key products and solutions to a wide base of customers operating in Africa, is front-of-shirt sponsor of Rivers United which campaigned in the CAF Confederation Cup.

Although they started out in the CAF Champions League, Rivers United ended up in the Confederation Cup where they were eliminated recently.

The ‘pride of Rivers’ needed a win against FUS Rabat of Morocco to stand a chance of remaining in the competition but after taking a well deserved lead through Bolaji Sakin’s expertly scored goal, they succumbed to the Moroccans when they conceded early in the second half and then gave away a penalty in the dying minutes of the match.

Ezeji said “Corporate Nigeria should follow the unique example of Eunisell, a company that has remained consistent with club sponsorship.

“Eunisell also deserve commendation for their efforts at boosting the club’s performance.

“I played for Sharks and Dolphins, now Rivers United, so I understand the financial needs of the average Nigerian club. Sponsors will reduce the heavy burden on government owned clubs.

Eunisell is the first brand to sponsor the front-of-shirt of a Nigerian team for three consecutive seasons.
