Former President of Liberia Mrs Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf on Wednesday paid a working visit to the Acting Inspector-General of Police Mr. Mohammed Adamu at the Force Headquaters Abuja.
Sirleaf told the IGP that she was happy to be part of the ECOWAS mission in Nigeria to observe the general elections in 2019.
She said: “I am happy to be in Nigeria as part of ECOWAS mission in Nigeria to observe the general election. We are happy with the level of preparations on ground”.
The former President of the oldest republic in West Africa further told the Police chief that the peace being enjoyed in Liberia was made possible by the effort of Nigeria’s security agencies.
She siad that Nigeria must continue to promote peace in African continent and the entire world.
In his response, the IGP said that officers and personnel of the Nigeria Police Force are fully prepared to secure the integrity of the electoral process in Nigeria during the forthcoming election.
He added that the commitment to conduct a free and fair election in Nigeria is not unwavering.
The IGP thanked the former President for finding time to visit the Police management team at the Force headquarters in Abuja before the general elections.
