Equities Market appreciates by 0.35%

The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) on Tuesday closed appreciated by 0.35 per cent on the heels of gain in Share prices of Nestle Nigeria Plc and Guaranty Trust Bank Plc.

Major market Indicator, All-share Index gained by 0.35 per cent to 27,609.67 basis points after it added 95.98 basis points or 0.35 per cent from 27,513.69 basis points it closed on Monday.

Similarly, Market Capitalization of listed equities appreciated by appreciated N33.3 billion, to close at N9.54 trillion from N9.51 trillion it closed on the previous day.

Nigeria Breweries led gainers for the day when it added 333 kobo to close at N145.00 per share, it was seconded by Nestle Nigeria, which raked 211 kobo to close at N800.11 per share, Okomu Oil Palm gained 150 kobo to close at N50.00 per share, CAP grabbed 145 kobo to close at N34.5 per share, while International Breweries recorded 100 kobo to close at N20.00 per share, among others.

On the other hand, Seplat Oil Development Company led decliners’ table when it went down by N34.2 to close at N345.8 per share, followed by Total Oil marketer which slipped by 390 kobo to close at N265.00 per share, Air Service dropped 40 kobo to close at N4.07 per share, Ecobank Transnational Incorporated lost 25 kobo to close at N9.45 per share, while Dangote Surgar Company depreciated by 24 kobo to close at N6.51 per share, among others.

Access Bank emerged the most traded equity Tuesday with an exchange of 174.866 million shares worth N1.234 billion.  Followed by Oando Oil having accounted for 60.791 million shares valued at N434.180 million, United Bank for Africa exchanged 50.482 million shares valued at N321.387 million; FBN Holdings recorded 45.311 million shares valued at N176.476 million while Fidelity Bank traded 44.582 million shares worth N41.798 million.

A total of 569.175 million shares worth N6.682 billion in 4,632.00 transactions were recorded on Tuesday compared with a total of 670.964 million shares worth N7.912 billion in 4,034.00 transactions that exchanged hands on Monday.
