Dele Alli secures draw for Spurs, as Hidink hails Mikel

Tottenham occupy the fourth and final Champions League spot following their 1-1 draw at Goodison Park, which prevented them from re-opening a five-point lead over fifth-place Manchester United.

Aaron Lennon put Everton ahead against his former club in the 22nd minute, controlling Romelu Lukaku’s knock-down and lashing a half-volley past Hugo Lloris.

But 19-year-old Spurs midfielder Dele Alli equalised in first-half stoppage time, brilliantly chesting down Toby Alderweireld’s 40-yard pass and guiding a volley into the bottom-right corner.

Meanwhile, Chelsea boss, Guus Hiddink has hailed Nigerian star, John Mikel Obi describing him as the ideal player to bring balance to the team, after the Blues secured a deserving 3-0 at Selhurst Park on Sunday.

Hiddink acknowledged his team’s ability on the ball as well as the hard work they displayed in south London, stressing we will only continue to pick up wins if we continue to marry those two different aspects of the game.

John Mikel Obi shone in central midfield and Hiddink explained what he adds to the team

‘He played very well as he also did in the previous games. He’s the ideal player in my option to bring balance to the team.
