As part of its corporate social responsibility, Total Exploration and Production Nigeria Limited, TEPNG, has charged students across Nigeria to imbibe integrity as watchword in everything they do.
Deputy Managing Director of TEPNG, Port Harcourt District, Mr. François Le Cocq, gave the charge during the 2017 Open Day Forum, organised by the company in Port Harcourt for secondary school students.
Le Cocq explained that the forum, which started in 2003 was aimed at giving students an orientation on the activities of the company as well as exposing the children to career prospects in the oil and gas industry.
He also said Total was committed to the promotion of education and sustainable development of the nation’s youth through it’s strategies of corporate social responsibility.
“With the ever increasing demand for Geologists, Chemists, Engineers etc in the energy sector of the Nigerian economy, the Open Day Forum seeks to expose our students to fist hand information on desired technical skills and how to equip them for career future in the oil and gas industry and beyond.”
Le cocq, who was represented by the Executive General Manager, Administration, Port Harcourt District, Mr. Joseph Ajilore, explained that the need to have integrity as a person is imperative because it determines one’s dignity and that of the country.
Ajilore said the aim of the event was to inculcate good qualities and values in them (students) at the early age to enable them grow up as good citizens of the country.
He urged the students to take advantage of the theme of the event: “My Integrity is My Dignity”‘ which will help to shape their future and lifestyle.
