Court remands man for allegedly abducting, defiling 15-year-old girl

An Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday ordered that a 23-year-old man, Mohammed Abdullahi, who allegedly abducted and defiled a 15-year-old girl be remanded in a correctional facility, pending legal advice.

The police charged Abdullahi with abduction and rape.

Chief Magistrate I. O. Osho, who did not take the plea of Abdullahi, for want of jurisdiction, ordered that he be remanded in Agodi Correctional Centre.

She adjourned the matter until May 26, for mention.

Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Insp. Foluke Adedosu told the court that Abdullahi on Feb.9, at about 2 .15p.m. at Onigbodogi area, Apete , Ibadan, allegedly abducted a girl, 15, and defiled her.

She alleged that Abdullahi met the minor on social media and he invited her to his residence.

Adedosu said the offence contravened the provisions of sections 361 and 357 of the Criminal Code Cap 38 Vol. I, Laws of Oyo State 2004
