College of Education, Warri, organization with rich history says  Kalusi

The Chairman of Committee for Retired Staff, College of Education,  Warri, Delta  Dr Mrs  J.J. Kalusi has said the college is an organization with rich history as its contributions towards human capital development  cannot be overemphasized.

Dr. Mrs  Kalusi stated this at the set forth ceremony organised by the school for a total of 18 retirees  which consist of 8 Deputy Registrars and 10 Chief lecturers which was held in Onoma Hall College of Education, Warri in Warri South Local Government Area Delta State.

Dr. Mrs Kalusi said the staff and the people should not take the school for granted as the college’s high demand” human assets” are highly sought after across the country and the intelligence community. She said the college has  been able to provide innovative and “out of box” thinking in the ability to solve human capital development challenges for the nation.

She said the retirees are the brains behind the growth and development the school has undergone to this level since its inception in 1981.

She said:” behind colleges great achievements are stalwart  leadership of the retirees gathered here today

The chairman of the committee therefore charged the retirees to have a blissful retirement  just  as she enjoined them to engage in meaningfull venture to keep their life  going.

Dr. (Mrs) Kalusi  used the medium to appealed to the management to make prospective retirees of the college to undergo pre- retirement Training Scheme to prepare them adequately for their vocations  after leaving service to align  with  the ever changing world and make the transition easier for them.

She thanked the school ‘s Chairman of the Governing Council, Prof  Samuel  Ovete  Aghalino and his executive members, Provost of the College, Prof Mrs Mary Olire Edema, management for  putting the programme together just as she appreciated them for allowing her to serve in this capacity.

Earlier on her part, the Provost of the College, Prof Mary Edema  congratulated  them for their successful retirement saying it was not by their power but the grace of God.

She enjoined them to make judicious  use of retirement and continue to do their best for the growth and development of the country. She therefore wished them a fruitful and peaceful retirement.

Not left out is the Chairman of the Governing Council, Prof Samuel Ovete Aghalino. He said the fear of retirement is the beginning of wisdom. He said the retirees have contributed immensely towards the growth and development of the college and wished  them happy retirement. He charged those in service to up and doing as they will also be sent forth at their due time. He appreciated the work of the retirees and wishes them well.

The highlight of the program was the presentation of gifts to the various retirees amid cheers
