Big coal-to-chemicals project in northern China has started full commercial operations, Media reported on Monday.

The project has a designed-capacity to produce 3.6 million tonnes of methanol and 1.37 million tonnes of olefins per year.

Situated at Ordos city in coal-rich Inner Mongolia, it is the largest project of its kind in the country, costing 59 billion yuan (8.93 billion dollars) to build ($1 = 6.6088 Chinese yuan renminbi)
