Change in Batton: PTML customs command get new comptroller


Following the recent redeployment approved by the Comptroller General of Customs, Comptroller Festus Okun on Monday 3rd February, 2020 took over the mantle of leadership of Port and Terminal Multiservices Limited (PTML) Command from Comptroller Florence Dixon as the Customs Area Controller in a brief handing over ceremony at the Command Headquarters in Lagos.

The newly posted Area Controller was formerly Serving at Tincan Command before his elevation to the rank of Comptroller and subsequent posting to the present position. He promised to sustain and improve on the achievements of his immediate predecessor. He further assured all users of the Port on his determination to pilot a Command that will strategically ensure quick clearance and seamless trade facilitation. He urged importers and their proxies to ensure sincere declaration and full compliance to extant policies/guidelines as a precondition  for speedy clearance.

In her parting remarks, the outgone Comptroller appreciate all Officers and stakeholders in the command for the support and cooperation extended to her and solicited the same for her successor. She further recalled that the command made its highest monthly collection of N16,456,582,954.22 in the month of January, 2020 and  expressed her optimism that the command can perform better than the landmark achieved last year (2019).

It is important to recall that the Command surpassed its 2019 revenue target of N123, 280,606,025.42 with  a sum of N36, 055,872,025.42 ,representing an increase of 29.2    percent based on a total collection of N159, 336,478,193 between January and December 2019.

Comptroller Dixon has since resumed as Customs Comptroller Inspection under the Headquarters Enforcement Investigation and Inspection Department.
