Benue Govt. approves implementation of N30 thousand minimum wage for civil servants

The Governor  Samuel Ortom   has approved implementation of the the new minimum wage of Thirty Thousand (N30,000) for Benue civil servants.

Chief Ode Enyi Special Adviser to the Governor of Benue State on Labour and Gender matters  revealed this  on Thursday in Makurdi why intimating Journalists on the outcome of the meeting between Government and Labour officials on the implementation of minimum wage

Chief Enyi said that the approval was  announced at  the meeting of the new minimum wage and salary adjustment  committee held on Thursday between  labour and government which both parties have unanimously agreed on a new minimum wage of #30,009.99 for civil servants in the state.

The labour commended the government maintaining that the state has crossed a milestone in the implementation of new minimum wage in Benue.

The chairman of the committee and secretary to Benue state government  Tony Ijohor expressed the readiness of gov Samuel Ortom to tackle issues of workers with all seriousness.he further said that Benue belongs to all and utmost interest and well being of the state is paramount.

The committee reconvened to a later date to address other adjustment issues of salary level seven and above with levels one to six settled.
