Bauchi governor signs N197bn budget into law

Governor Bala Muhammed of Bauchi State has on Friday signed into law the 2019 N197billion appropriation bill.

The budget was downwardly reviewed from the proposed 198billion submitted to the State House of Assembly by the former Governor Mohammad Abubakar in December 20, 2018.

The Speaker of the House, Mr. Kawuwa Damina while presenting the budget to the Governor for his assent, said Bala requested for review of the document, therefore the legislators were on their toes to ensure amendment.

Governor Bala had after his inauguration requested the legislators to make a review of the budget to suit his administration’s policies and programmes.

Governor Bala commended the lawmakers for their effort towards making his government achieve its 100 days objectives and thanked them for being patriotic despite their multiple party divide.

He assured the lawmakers of the executive synergy to take the state to “greatest height” with provision of good governance.

“I must commend the political maturity of Bauchi electorate, they voted for President Muhammadu Buhari of All Progressives Congress, they voted Bala Muhammed of PDP as their Governor.

“The electorate carefully elected their lawmakers across different parties ranging from; PDP, APC, PRP and NNPP. This is to tell you that we are mature enough to determine whom we want. On this, we must not let them down.
