Bangladesh government has said it would support Bauchi state government in poverty alleviation through strengthening of agro-food value chains, boost agriculture and human capital development.
The Bangladeshi High Commissioner to Nigeria, Mr Mohammed Shameem Ahsan disclosed this after a closed door meeting with Governor Bala Abdulkadir in Abuja yesterday.
He said the commission would assist the state government in training of agricultural extension workers on new farming techniques in order to improve food security, nutrition and agricultural development.
Meanwhile, Governor Bala Mohammed pledged the readiness of his administration towards providing all the needed requirements for boost farming activities in the state.
Bala explained that his agricultural policy document presented to the commission was to enable them to key into the administration’s blueprint aimed at improving agricultural productivity, creation of food processing facility and promotion of access to markets within and outside the country.
