The Association of Senior Staff of Banks, Insurance and Financial Institutions (ASSBIFI) has urged the three tiers of governments in the country to create more entrepreneurs out of the teeming unemployed youths for wealth generation.
ASSBIFI’s President, Comrade Oyinkan Olasanoye in a chat with newsmen, implored governments to provide the enabling environment for businesses to thrive in all spheres
He added that there was need government to encourage the spirit of entrepreneurship amongst the youths with appropriate mentoring from sectoral leaders.
He explained that the government can collaborate with the Organised Private Sector (OPS) by providing access to funds to the youths as well as mentoring opportunities to develop and sharpen their entrepreneurial skills in various sectors of the economy.
“The government needs to look beyond the challenges of today and plan ahead for a more profitable future by reviewing the economic and investment landscape which must be in tune with global realities that is driven by innovation and technology” she said.
According to the Labour leader, “recent developments in the business and investment environment require that our leaders should take a critical look at the structure of corporate governance in the management of investment and ethical and legal framework.
“This can only happen if our leaders focus attention on building the Nigerian brand with global relevance”, she said
Olasanoye implored the youths to support government’s initiative to curb unwholesome practices in the investment and business environment in Nigeria.
