Nigerian oil and gas industry need to be innovative:-Aryeetey
Mr. Michael N.A.Aryeetey speaking at the on going offshore west africa conference holding at the Eko Hotel and Suites. He said that the aim of the conference is the” way forward for government, companies, and the major players in the oil and and gas industries in the face of the present downturn in the global oil prices”.
Mr. Aryeetey who is the AG, chief operating officer, Ghana National Petroleum Corporation, and one of the guest speakers, urged the government to be more innovative and creative in the current dwindling oil and gas production, and especially how to optimize as well as controlling cost for offshore constructions.
He explained that Ghana is still young in oil and gas exploration, and still learning a lot from Nigeria as a big player.
He equally advised government to concentrate in the area that will interest investors, especially in the area of tax holiday or relaxation of tax policies.
Offshore West Africa which is marking its 20th anniversary with the theme” positioning for sustainable future” had in attendance key players in the public and private oil and gas industries in Nigeria and abroad.
