The Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has described shunning of all forms of social education vices as means of appreciating the current administration’s determi-nation in revamping the education sector in the state.
Governor Amosun made this holistic description recently in his speech at the 13th Founder’s Day Lecture of Crescent University, Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The Gate-way State helmsman, ably represented by the Deputy Governor, Chief (Mrs.) Yetunde Onanuga enjoined students of both the public and private institutions in the state to eschew actions that can mitigate excellence performances academically.
“We can only hope that the determination of our administration towards revamping the education sector will continue to be appreciated through excellence performances, shunning of all forms of vices, such as examination malpractices, drug abuse, sexual crimes, cultism, among others.”
While recounting the government’s high premium placed on qualitative and affordable education, as the vocal point of the 5-cardinal programme in the mission to rebuild Ogun State, he stated that this administration has been loyal, faithful and accountable for the mandate of his people.
“This is why we have made sure that substantial percentage of our annual budget is dedicated towards making education in Ogun State affordable and qualitative.”
Further exemplifying the good virtues of the founder of the institution, Prince Bola Ajibola at 85, he enjoined the youths of this present generation to possess leadership qualities necessary for the future endeavours.
“You must build and gradually move on the integrity and moral precepts already founded by the founder.”
