..receives commendation in fight against fraud through practice, publications and capacity building

The Association of Forensic Accounting Researchers (AFAR), has been commended for maintaining its dedication to fighting fraud in Nigeria through its fraud fighting activities.
The commendations came as AFAR’s Global President, Prof. Godwin Emmanuel Oyedokun was elevated to the rank of full professor of Forensic Accounting and Finance. He was also elected International President of Charisma University Alumni Association
Professor OYEDOKUN is also currently the President of Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), Lagos chapter, and a Board Member of the Faculty of Audit, Investigation and Forensic Accounting of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).
Oyedokun’s election and elevation to the rank of full professor came on the heels of his appreciable efforts to the development of knowledge in the business space through his numerous research in the field of forensic accounting and fraud investigation.
Speaking with Nigerian NewsDirect, Oyedokun said: “This is a dream come true, I had paid my price in both practice and academics, professorial cadet is desirable of any academic. You have to work rigorously to earn it as it is not automatic.
As the President of ACFE and AFAR, this new role confirms that we are not doing trial and error, we know what we are teaching, preaching and mentoring. It gives more opportunities to lead as expected without fear or favour in the space of Forensic Accounting and related field”.
Amidst other academic qualifications, Oyedokun obtained a BSc in Accounting and Finance, MSc in Taxation & Fiscal Policy as well as a PhD in Forensic Accounting and Audit in 2014, all from Charisma University, a Turks & Caicos Islandbased institution.
Commenting on the feats, the University Chancellor, Peter Chris, who made the announcement of the professorial elevation urged him to use his new position to contribute meaningfully to forensic discipline both in learning and practice.He commended Oyedokun’s dedication to teaching, mentoring, coordinating and researching since joining the university.
