Unknown gunmen abduct man in Ekiti


Unknown Gunmen has attacked a middle aged man Mr Godwin Johnson and after which his abductors later dumped him in a bush.

It was gathered that the gunmen numbering five stormed the residence of Godwin and ransacked the house and took away some valuables.‎

It was further learnt that the hoodlums stormed his residence in a military form shooting sporadically into the air to scare away people.

An eyewitness said the abductors were compelling Gowin Johnson to lead them to his Sister, one Johnson Ruth. ‎

Our source said, “I was called around 9pm that some Gunmen has invaded our area in Ijero area of Ekiti, in Ekiti State and whisked away Mr Johnson Godwin after they have demanded for the whereabouts of his Sister’.

‘They said the family had been in some unresolved problem which made Ruth to run to an undisclosed area’.‎

“They forced him to lie down and beat the he’ll out of him, They ransacked the house and took whatever they could find.‎

Our Correspondents gathered that Godwin was seen the second day dumped by roadside on Ijero road before he was rushed to a private hospital where he was been taken care of at the intensive unit of the hospital.

Mr Nkah urged the police to beef up security in the state during the Christmas to checkmate the activities of the criminals.

In a related development, a journalist, Mr Moses Erogu of Ebonyi State Broadcasting Corporation, EBBC, had his house buggled on Sunday morning by unknown criminals.

Mr Erogu, who is the Government House Abakaliki Correspondent of EBBC said the incident happened while his entire family were in Church.

“I took my family to 6am mass and from there I went to work. Later my wife called me to come home and when I got there I saw that they broke into the house and ransacked the house, took away some valuables including a phone belonging to my sister and some cash in the house”.

Mr Erogu, whose building is located behind the state House of Assembly at Nkaliki lamented the increasing rate of criminal activities in the area and called on the police to do more to secure the area.‎ report.‎
