5th Convocation: 27 Graduates of Oduduwa University  bag first class

In yet another academic accolades and celebration, no fewer than 27 graduates  of Oduduwa University, Ile Ife, Osun State  yesterday bagged first class Degree at the 5th Convocation and Conferment of Honorary degree ceremony  following a successful 2016/2017 session.

The ceremony which was attended by Osun State Deputy Governor Mrs Titilayo Laoye-Tomori vast educationist, parent and guardian saw the institution celebrating another academic session of great success.

At the convocation, Ibrahim  Kabir Adeyemi of the Department of Computer Science emerged  Best Graduating student with the best overall performance of 4.94 CGPA and won the Chancellor’s Prize donated by the Chanellor of Oduduwa University Chief (Dr) Ramon Adedoyin.

 Afolabi David Oluwarotimi of the of Physics with Electronics department as  2nd best graduating student with 4.873 CGPA and won the Pro Chancellor’s Prizwe donated by Prof Muib Opeloye.

Adesanya Happiness Shade of the Department of Economics won the Leadership Prize donated  by Vice Chairperson, Board of Trustees, Chief (Mrs) Iyabo Adedoyin  as   the Best Female Graduating  student with CGPA of 4.83.

Olanrewaju Adeoye of Public Administration, Jambgbadi Osuashi Gifts of International Relations department among others also bagged First Class Honourws Degree.

In response to the success attained, all the graduating students described the result obtained as the work of God and hardwork.

The best graduating student Kabir who spoke on behalf of the graduands expressed appreciation for the discipline and commitment of the lecturers to academic activities.

Employers invited as Special Guest at the convocation ceremony expressed willingness to provide gainful employment for the graduating students. For instance, the Publisher of Nigerian NewsDirect Dr Samuel Ibiyemi announced three job placement for  best graduates in Mass Communication and Economics Department. He expressed  delight at the commitment of the Founder and Chancellor Chief Adedoyin. for promoting quality graduates.

As part of its drive in recognizing academic intellectuals in the society, the institution  conferred honourary Degree on . Dawud Olatokunbo Noibi and Alhaji (Dr) Sakariyau Olayiwola Babalola.

The  Chancellor of the institution Chief (Dr) Adedoyin described the two recipients as worthy personalities who have distinguished themselves in the advancement of academic sphere in the nation.
