2019: Obi inaugurates Friends of Atiku  Group in Ogun

The Vice Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2019 presidential election, Mr Peter Obi, has inaugurated the Ogun State chapter of Friends of Atiku Support Group.

The inauguration took place on Sunday in Sagamu at the house of the  former Governor of Ogun State, Gbenga Daniel, during the 14th Annual Thanksgiving in honour of Late Most Rev. Ajibola Daniel, the father of the former governor.

While inaugurating the group, Obi stressed the need for them to work assiduously towards the victory of Atiku Abubakar and PDP as a party at the poll.

According to Obi, the numerous challenges facing the country can only be tackled by Atiku.

“Nigeria has lots of problems and there is only one person who can solve these problems. That person is Atiku Abubakar,” he said.

While addressing members of the group, the wife of the former Vice President, Hajiya Titi Abubakar, enjoined them to do their best to ensure victory for Atiku and the PDP at the poll.

Friends of Atiku Group is an affiliation of different interest groups including women groups, youth groups and so on who have come together to work for the victory of Atiku in the February election.

The former Vice President is the main challenger to the  incumbent president, Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The Annual Thanksgiving attracted dignitaries from different parts of the country.

Some of the prominent personalities that graced the occasion were: Ayo Adebanjo, Olabode George, Sen. Abiodun Olujimi, the Ooni of Ife; His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Sen. Buruji Kashamu, Sen. Ben Bruce, Gboyega Isiaka among others.  The highlight of the event was the presentation of special renditions by participating choirs and award presentation to the best 3.
