A former military administrator of Lagos, Brig. Mohammed Buba Marwa (rtd), on Tuesday, formally endorsed President Muhammadu Buhari for a second term in office.

Marwa’s President Buhari’s endorsement came via a communiqué from the Marwa Organisation (TMO), a group promoting the political interest the retired army general, which he personally signed.

The TMO, which had at different times, championed the presidential aspiration of the Adamawa State-born politician, in the communiqué noted that its decision to support President Buhari for another term was informed by the numerous achievements of the current administration, adding that the president would require another term in 2019 to ensure the sustainability of the gains so far recorded in the fight against insurgency, the diversification of the economy and the fight against corruption among others.

The copy of communiqué, which was available to Daily Sun, noted that the Buhari-led administration needed to be commended for the award of the 5.7 billion dollars 3,050 mega watts Mambilla Hydroelectric power plant, which it noted had been on the “drawing board for the past 45 years.”

He also noted with satisfaction the administration’s efforts at developing infrastructure across the country, adding that awards of Gombe-Numan, Hong-Mubi-Madagali, Mayo-Belwa-Jada-Ganye as well as Numan-Jalingo roads, would no doubt ease movement of goods and services in Adamawa State and its environs.

Listing the Buhari’s achievements one after the other, the group further said: “Whereas the Buhari government has provided Nigerians, especially the youth with credit and employment through the Social Investment Scheme like N-Power, we in the Marwa Organisation, along with our numerous supporters and over 100 Adamawa State of NGOs and Civil Society Organisations have resolved to give President Muhammadu Buhari our unflinching support and encouragement to run for a second term in 2019 because we believe that his government and policies are not only on course but need to be supported to consolidate on the great strides already recorded.

“This communiqué would be incomplete without placing on record our gratitude to Almighty God for the complete recovery of President Muhammadu Buhari and to wish him more good health,” the communiqué said.
