The question any impartial observer will ask is how will People’s Democratic Party wins 2019 election in Ogun state having been totally flawed by indifferences and irreconcilable schism.
But it is also a valid question to be asked, that All Progressives Congress is not cashing on this; due to the political brinkmanship that predominantly exists in the ranks and file of the party.
It is pathetic and incomprehensible why the ship of the APC is left to flounder without the stakeholders seeing eye to eye on issues, to avert the danger that may imminently hamper the chances of party in winning the 2019 governorship election, keeping criminal silence or looking elsewhere as if nothing is wrong, with unabashed dishonesty.
And the titanic battle for the soul of the Party to determine, who flies the flag of the party, is deepening the schism that exists in the party which could have been long abated with collective resolve of the party leaders.
It is a fact that All Progressives Congress is blessed with seasoned politicians and not short of ideas.
But the recent meeting of serving House of Representatives member, representing Remo Federal Constituency, Hon. Adebutu- Kessiginton has also begun to generate ripples within PDP and APC.
Sources at the meeting divulged that Adebutu is not considering defection to APC but strategy to woo more political bigwigs to achieve his governorship aspiration in 2019.
Adebutu who also wants to capitalize on the friction between Osoba and incumbent governor Ibikunle Amosun to broker peace with his men has left no stone unturned as he has sent emissaries to Osoba to solicit for his support.
Beyond this is another fact that virtually all the high ranking leaders of the party are in one aspirant or the other’s camps. Even those that have ambition for one thing or the other have been humble with the reality that the Ogun 2019 governorship should be left for Adebutu.
The fact that Senator Buruj Kashamu has lost grip of PDP in Ogun state is also an added advantage for Adebutu who is gaining ground gradually.
Last year, during Igbesa Maale day celebration, he was invited as the chairman of the occasion; he donated one N1 million by proxy. Aside this, he has been donating generously to many communities and individual projects showing good example of what should be expected from him peradventure he becomes governor in 2019.
Adebutu’s contributions on the floor of the house have been tremendous and his colleagues have been hailing him as governor in-waiting.
