2018 New Year Message delivered by Prophet (Dr.) S.K. Abiara @ CAC Agbala Itura, Oke-Odo, Agege, Lagos.

Thanksgiving Year 2017 has come and gone forever. Nigerian President, the Vice President, state governors and the entire people of Nigeria must thank God for the grace to witness another year.

Year 2017 was like a Red Sea for Nigerians. The year was like a wilderness filled with many bad events yet God helped us through it all. We thank God Almighty for holding Nigeria together in peace.

Institutions, organizations, Churches, ministers of the gospel and individuals must count their blessings and give God quality praise. Imagine all your ups and downs, God kept you by His grace.  You are now in year 2018. You must give Him thanks. “It is good to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praises to the Most High-Psalm 92:1.

  1. The New Year

2018 is a year of peace, progress, prosperity, protection, victory, happiness and joy. It is a year the Lord has made for you to achieve something tangible. God will give you rest of mind in all areas. If only you obey and follow His instructions. Isaiah 1:19

“If you are willing and obedient, You will eat the best of the land.

Job 22:21-25

“Stop quarreling with God! If you agree with him, you will have peace at last, and things will go well for you. Listen to his instructions, and store them in your heart. If you return to the Almighty and clean up your life, you will be restored.

Give up your lust for money, and throw your precious gold into the river.  Then the Almighty himself will be your treasure. He will be your precious silver!”   “ If you will only obey me and let me help you, then you will have plenty to eat.”

  1. Warning to the wicked people

2018 is going to be a terrible year for all the wicked people such as armed robbers, murderers, hired killers, kidnappers, ritual killers, adulterers, corrupt and dubious people.

A year that all evil people will be exposed and punished, if they refused to repent. If they failed to turn from their wicked ways to obey God.

Acts 17:30

“God overlooked people’s former ignorance about these things, but now he commands everyone everywhere to turn away from idols and turn to him.”

  1. Chose to work hard

Last year you did nothing to improve your life. Here is another New Year because you are alive, it is a privilege. It is an opportunity to determine to work hard.

What are your plans? You have to set goals and work hard to achieve them. Hard work does not kill. The word of God does not support laziness. So you must find something positive to do this year.

God promised to bless the work of your hand. Therefore don’t be a lazy man, woman, student, minister of God.

Laziness will not take you anywhere this year.  God works. Jesus works. The angels, sun and moon are working.

Genesis 2:1-2

“So the creation of the heavens and the earth and everything in them was completed.

On the seventh day, having finished his task, God rested from all his work.”

Proverbs 10:4

“Lazy people are soon poor; hard workers get rich.”

  1. Beware of prophecy of doom

Do not listen to prophesy of doom in 2018. This year will end well. The future of Nigeria is bright and good. Be a good citizen. Play a positive role to bring about the much needed change in the nation. God is equally interested in Nigeria. Keep praying for Nigeria and the leaders. God will make things change for the better.

Jeremiah 29:11

“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

  1. Nigerian governments

I wish to appreciate the Federal, State and the Local Governments for their various achievements in 2017. The efforts of the Federal Government are also commended. The government is trying. However, other areas of people’s expectations should be looked into in the New Year.

  1. Lagos State Government

We thank God for the lives of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, the Executive Governor of Lagos State and his cabinet members for many visible developments and for curbing crimes in the state. God will help them do more for the people of Lagos State. Your tenure will continue to be peaceful in Jesus name.

I also commend the efforts of other state governors for doing their best in moving their States forward. God will grant them wisdom and understating to do more.

Let me use this medium to admonish Nigerians that instead of criticizing the governments, pray for the people in authority.

  1. Politicians and leaders

I am calling on all politicians and those in power to make sure they do not encourage disunity among one another. They must be conscious that the masses are watching because another election is at the corner. Politicians must be very careful. Watch utterances and actions.

  1. The rich and wealthy people

My special admonition goes to the rich and the wealthy individuals in our country. Rich people are known to gather riches for selfish purposes while the real wealthy ones make sure they empower the less-privileged.

Therefore, I encourage the rich not be selfish in 2018 but to join hands with the wealthy to put smiles on peoples’ faces. As you do this, God will help and bless you more. He will make you prosper beyond your imagination.

Wishing you a prosperous 2018

God Bless you all!

God Bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria!
