Following the allegations of extortion by motorist against the security officials at the ongoing $1.5billion Lagos-Ibadan standard gauge rail.

The manamgent of China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) has said that it planned to sanction any security officials involved in the act of extorting money from motorist along ongoing Ijoko-Agbado newly constructed railway standard gauge project.

Nigerian NewsDirect on Monday had reported exclusively how seucirty officials that belong to the CCECC were harassing public bike riders and collecting between N100 and N50.

Speaking with Nigerian NewsDirect exclusively, the Public Relation consultant, railway standard gauge project, Mr. Akinwoye Abulraouf, said “we have sent our people to investigate the issue and if any of the security is involved in such act will dealt with accordingly.

“I have summoned the head of security official at that corridor and we will make sure that anyone of them involved with such act will be sanctioned”.

Akinwoye also said that the Ijoko-Agbado standard gauge railway corridor is officially blocked to protect and sustain the earthwork alignment, stressing that the corridor belongs to the Nigeria Railway Corporation and no motorist is allowed to ply through that corridor.

He therefore advised motorist and community around the Ijoko-Agbado standard gauge railway corridor to ply through an alternative road, to shun the act of giving bribe to security officials.

Akinwoye added that motorists plying through Ijoko-Agbado are destroying the work of the CCECC and any motorist found at that corridor will be dealt with by law.
